How would the City of Greater Sudbury benefit by the Construction of the Barrydowne Extension?

Maximize use of existing water and sewer infrastructure.

Reduce green house gas emissions by reducing commuting times and idling times caused by congestion at intersections along MR 80 and at the Lasalle Blvd. – Notre Dame Street intersection

Increase safety and reduce green house gases by providing a more efficient roadway for heavy commercial vehicles. The City could take the opportunity to design the road with heavy commercial vehicles in mind

Provide access to two major areas designated as potential conservation sites in the City of Greater Sudbury’s Official Plan Natural Heritage Background Study.

To reiterate the City’s commitment to accessibility and innovation of affordable and variety of housing;

Provide a safe and efficient alternate access to the City of Greater Sudbury Airport.
